This piece is the final product of a five week evening wear spontaneous draping assignment. It is made of one four and a half yard piece of silk taffeta with a pre-embroidered floral motif, only the sleeves are pattterned as separate pieces. The combination of embroidery and plaid lead me to try to manipulate the plaid in various ways to create more controlled areas with thicker stripes to contrast with the voluminous complex folds of the rest of the gown.
